Pelvic Floor Health & Education Workshop with Alexis & Teagan!

Join physical therapist Alexis Dispenziere PT DPT and yoga instructor Teagan Schweitzer PhD for an essential workshop on the pelvic floor. Whether you are or have experienced issues with your pelvic floor or are interested in a deeper understanding of it to support your health and wellbeing moving forward, this workshop is for you. Topics covered include the role of the pelvic floor, anatomy of the pelvic floor, what is pelvic floor rehab, common misconceptions, its relationship to posture, assessment, and treatment. We will cover all of this and then apply some of what we've learned to a yoga-based movement practice that you will love. Please join us!
Alexis Dispenziere holds a doctorate of physical therapy from Drexel University in Philadelphia. She has been practicing in outpatient settings for over 5 years, focusing her craft towards pelvic floor rehabilitation and postural restoration. Alexis is a former dancer and active yogi, integrating her passion towards movement, body awareness, and motor control into her physical therapy practice to help her patients meet their activity goals. Outside of the clinic, Alexis enjoys playing with her two cats, meeting with friends for dinner, and living life fully with her boyfriend.
Teagan Schweitzer has been dedicated to teaching yoga in Philadelphia for 15 years and has taken teacher trainings in a variety of styles. She is a registered E-RYT 500 yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. She combines her knowledge from these studies to offer unique, challenging, expertly taught, well-aligned yoga classes, workshops, and teacher trainings. Aside from pursuing yoga studies, she has a Ph.D. in Anthropology and researches food in Philadelphia in the 18th-20th centuries. She graduated top her class in culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. Her passion for movement and form traces back through a long history in dance, both amateur and professional, and extends to all modalities of fitness and physical practice.
