Connect to Your Back Body
Yoga Classes

1h 2m
In this class, we'll focus on connecting the arms and legs to the torso (your core). We'll do this primarily by focusing on your serratus anterior muscle - the muscle that helps connect the scapula to the ribcage - and the iliopsoas muscles - the iliacus and psoas muscle group that run from your inner thighs to your lower back. The iliopsoas muscles are the only muscles that connect to your upper and lower half and your front and back body. We'll use the serratus to create both stability and mobility in the shoulders, and the iliopsoas to help make the legs feel more connected to the torso. Aside from allowing you to feel more connected to your back through the engagement of these muscles, what we practice in this class is crucial for helping prepare you for a good handstand.
