Steady Sacrum
59m
The sacrum is a section of 5 fused bones at the base of your spine, above the tailbone. It articulates with the pelvis at the SI joints. In classical yoga, many of the shapes require extreme movement in the hips, pelvis, and lower back that can result in pain the SI area. In this class, we work to combat that by creating steadiness and evenness in the sacrum, which results in greater mobility in the hip. In general, we need to learn the distinction between movement in the hip and movement in the pelvis, once we have a steady sacrum and pelvis, we can move away from low back and SI joint pain, among other benefits.
