In this class, we work to awaken our serratus muscles (plural serrati). The key actions of the serratus are protraction (movement away from the spine) of the shoulder blades (scapulae), stabilizing the shoulder, and assisting in upward rotation of the shoulder blades. Having them awake is a key component of weight-bearing on the arms. including in planks and inversionse. We'll wake them up and challenge them to build endurance in this fun class. Enjoy!
